Aasim left Hinduism years ago when he turned to Christ. He’s been involved in a number of local ministries and churches. For the past several years, he’s been serving with Silk Road Catalyst. A few years ago, he recorded his testimony which included his story about leaving Hinduism, what he dealt with as a result of leaving it, and then he shares the Gospel message. Today, this video has been viewed over a million times with 700,000 of those views happening over the past three months. That’s potentially 700k people across South Asia hearing the Gospel message, many for the very first time. As you might expect, much of the feedback has been negative, attack based, and simply ugly toward him. But instead of deleting the video and insulating himself inside a Christian bubble, Aasim engages with those willing to engage him. He has been able to talk with many Hindus and Muslims one on one as a result of this video, further explaining his testimony and the Gospel.
This is an example of why we are moving more and more into the media arena both to empower the Church and to reach the lost. In fact, Aasim came to Christ through an online media ministry. If you would like to support Aasim and our other Global South missionaries, we invite you to support them through our Silk Road Fund, a fund dedicated to providing support on various levels for our missionaries from the Global South (non-Western).
