Their marriage was torn apart. They drifted away from the Lord. Yet, this did not happen overnight. It was a gradual journey as their hearts became consumed with the stress of finances and lack of work. Ved and his family were confessed followers of Jesus. But, confession was not enough to keep them centered on Christ. They lacked discipleship. When a few years had gone by, Isaac and Rebekah connected with this family, although Ved was out of picture at this point. They learned that Ved left his wife and family and lived far away, like a wanderer searching for hope while ignoring the One who gives it. Immediately, Isaac and Rebekah jumped into action. They opened their arms to this family and into one of their local churches. They poured into them by meeting needs and discipling them. This ultimately led this family, along with Isaac and Rebekah, to begin praying and fasting for Ved. They wanted him to return home and be reconciled with his wife and family. The short of this story is that Ved did return home. God answered their prayers and now Ved is also being discipled. Isaac and Rebekah proactively serve the poor, the orphan, and the refugee. They have planted more than a dozen house churches in two countries. They often travel to villages where the Gospel has yet to be preached. And, they are a blessing to the global SRC family. As we inch closer to the end of 2021, the SRC board and I want to invest into the lives of our national staff in Asia, which includes Isaac and Rebekah. But, we can only do it with your help. Listed below, I have outlined the two areas we desire to invest into that will benefit our national staff in Asia. They are benefits most Western missionaries often enjoy while national workers in places like Asia do not. But together, we can begin partnering with our national Asian staff to provide them with these two crucial needs. If you would like to partner with them, use this link to give a special #GivingTuesday or Year End gift. https://bit.ly/3kE0FY9
