Kar was stabbed in the stomach and nearly killed, simply for sharing the gospel. Kar is a taxi driver and pastor. He uses his job as a taxi driver to earn an income to support his family and church. He’s also part of the broader SRC network as he serves under the leadership of Issac, one of our missionaries. A few weeks ago, Kar was driving a passenger around while also sharing the gospel with him. This is something he does on a regular basis. It’s his way of meeting new people and delivering the gospel to those who have never heard it. Yet at the end of this particular journey, the passenger was so angry at Kar that he pulled out a knife and stabbed him. Thankfully, Kar survived.
Kar is currently in the hospital recovering. He, along with Isaac and many others, live in an area of South Asia where there are anti-conversion laws in place. And while their government claims to protect religious freedom and choice, they also turn a blind eye toward the radicals who cause Christians the harm. Gospel deprivation is often prevalent in dangerous and difficult to reach communities. This is why your prayers for Isaac and his broader network is crucial because the war is real, not a fantasy or metaphorical. It’s real. It’s not a war fought with guns but on our knees. The implications of this war is eternal.
